It is of paramount importance to the Church and part of her sacred tradition that reverence be accorded the human body, both in life and in death,as the manifestation of Godís creative power. The Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary has been established as a modern instrument of this sacred ministry.
The Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary is located in Wheat Ridge, Colorado on the grounds of breathtaking Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary chapel features an inspiring stained glass backdrop and altar. This memorable setting is ideal for wakes, viewings, rosaries, memorial services and Mass and seats up to 250. And, our four private and comfortable state rooms provide a personal moment of pause, thought and reflection.
The entire mortuary is easily accessible and handicapped amenities are readily available.
Archdiocese of Denver Cemeteries
From the earliest times, the Catholic Church has participated in the burial of her beloved dead. Cemeteries are rooted in ancient religious rituals and customs of reverence for the dead. We serve as a symbol of the extended community of the Church, a community unbroken by death, andlike the sacrament of the Eucharist, celebrate the death and resurrection of the Lord which offers to us the promise of eternal life. Mount Olivet Cemetery has stood for over 118 years and St. Simeon Cemetery for more than 8 years.
Mt. Olivet Cemetery
Mt. Olivet Cemetery is one of two separately incorporated Catholic cemeteries under the pastoral oversight of the Archdiocese of Denver. Mt. Olivet Cemetery is located in Wheat Ridge, on the same grounds as the Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary.
St. Simeon Cemetery
St. Simeon Cemetery is the second of two separately incorporated Catholic cemeteries under the pastoral oversight of the Archdiocese of Denver. St. Simeon Cemetery is located in Aurora, adjacent to Buckley Air Force Base.
